Make the 'proposed quote' box optional (Job Posters)
Why do i have to come up with my own quote as i have no idea how much the job will be? By making it essential to answer i could be pricing myself out of getting quotes or opening myself up to being overcharged......surely I should post a job, and then get quotes back where I choose the best one?

Dont charge us twice!
Dont charge us twice, We have already paid you for job leads so why should we pay again for customer contact details, It should still be left up to the job poster to decide to keep it fair. Why should we pay again for contact details when i think we should get them anyway?

Restrict firms from quoting jobs they are not qualified to do
Dont let companies that don't appear to be suitably qualified quote on jobs that require it
ie. Gas Safe registered.
Have noticed a few companies that dont display any gas safe registration quoting on jobs that obviously need it!25 votesunder review ·

We are taking steps to promote Gas Safe and Part P firms on the site at the moment. By the end of the year we hope to have higher ranking for qualified firms.
Many jobs on the site are a mixture of different tasks and it would be impossible to prevent people from bidding on kobs that invlove gas but are moslty something else.
If you feel a company should not be bidding on a certain job please report that firm to customer service or click the ‘Report violation button’ beside the job post.

You improve the ability to submit further information on a quote
I created a job. Someone responded with a partial quote but needed more information to provide a full quote. I added a note but the guy obvioulsy can't see this as he had to requote asking me again for the information. I suggest you set up a kind of list instant messaging-style convesation box so that we can have a dialogue.
Alternative make it easier to just add further information.

Job Posters have to enter at least one working phone number in contact details
- Don't want to buy customer details and find no useful information save for a dodgy email address or mobile number that does not work.

Dear chroberka,
We have started to implement your idea on the platform.
90% of new job posters are now asked to enter at least one phone number upon registration. We are waiting to see the effects of this and if it is successfull we will introduce it for all job posters.
Thanks for your idea!

Allow Picture Upload for the customer to show image of work to be done. This will give the trades men more insight to the job.
Simply posting images of plumbing work or a boiler or work area can give better idea on work to be done. This is a great way to cutout the bad workmanship that is engulfing UK. Good Job

More space to review good tradespeople after successful jobs!
I suggest that you allow us more than one sentence to describe a job done above and beyond the specification in more than one sentence!

Look into partnership with facebook.com. This is brilliant.
Use facebook to promote this site. I will recommend this site to all my facebook friends.

charge people asking for quotes who never come back to the site as its waste of traders time
take card details from job posters and if they dont take a quote through the site then charge them as its a waste of traders time.

for example a simple note at the bottom of the original quote saying either 'this message has been read' or this message is unread'11 votes -
'Email sent' message for Job Posters Contacting Tradespeople
When a job poster sends an email to a tradesman through the site..
- give them a confirmation ("your email has been sent")
or
- send them a copy of the email.Otherwise, we can't be sure that it's been sent.

Create an Area to Review all Message Postings at Once
There is no audit trail or messaging area where I can keep control of my correspondence.
It would be useful to have a tab beside a job post or customer that shows the various communications between the parties.

Message to Tradesman from Job Poster when Job is cancelled
Had to cancel a job for good reason. No way of letting tradesman know this rather than a blunt cancellation

Pay tradesmen fees instantly
Instead of having to wait for myhammer to take the fees (which means you may have your account restricted if you are unable to pay when myhammer choose to take the money). You should be able to pay them instantly on the website.
